2:2 Quotes For My Insight

With my miscommunication insight, I wanted to use quotes in the play and retype them with a typo that changes the original meaning of the quote.

I chose two quotes and changed them:

“Parting is such sweet sorrow.” = “Partying is such sweet sorrow”

“I bite my thumb” = “I buy my thumb”

For “Partying is such sweet sorrow”

I wanted to do a photoshoot so I looked at images of parties and considered creating a party scene with people drinking and having fun, or even putting the quote on a birthday cake. After more research, I decided that having a picture of a party that has ended would make sense in relation to the sweet sorrow part as the saddest time at a party is when it’s over. I would have party accessories and the quote would be shown through a neon sign, I wanted to take the photo in daylight with the neon light still on as the neon wouldn't be clear and to show that this is the next morning after a crazy party from the previous night.

For “I buy my thumb”

I thought of taking a picture of a receipt that showed a purchase of a thumb, with the store name being Shakespeare’s Globe and possibly adding fake blood on top to illustrate that it would've been a severed thumb.
