1:2 The Photoshoot

We were given the opportunity to do a photoshoot with the help of a professional named Lee Mawdsley for our IKON project. My partner, Jack, is a rugby player with an interest in astrology. I wanted to combine these two facts and essentially have Jack in space playing rugby. I looked at images of astronauts in space and rugby players.

I had Jack come to the photoshoot in his rugby uniform and placed him against a white backdrop so I can easily edit around him when it came to the editing stage. I had a mid-shot of Jack looking up above him and buff up his chest to embody a sort of ‘King of the Jungle’ stance (or rather in this case, ‘King of Space’). I had some over the shoulder shots to make it seem like he was looking ahead in space. I found the photoshoot to be quite rushed and I wish I had played around with different angles and positions, added some more props to do with space, but at the time I didn’t think it would matter as the main focus of my IKON image would be of the solar system around Jack.
