This was what we presented to Tab (please look at my cute icons in the top right, I chose them very carefully. But also don't forget to look at the actual slide content and speaker notes duh thxs)

Liz and Larry spike for all the slides for their ideas, I spoke for everything else and Gabriel said to Tab "I didn't know we were presenting today" to which I (rightfully) gave him evil eyes for because he did know and then he poorly spoke for his idea slides.

I wrote notes of our feedback following the presentation and now I will attempt to decipher them:

They liked that we showcased multiple ideas, they said we should think about making the jigsaw app a physical jigsaw too. Missed Match is the most interesting, simple, usable and tactile. They're all interesting but Gabriel's music idea needed to be massively simplified. We need to do more user testing and not tell the tester how it works but see how they get on. How can we test Toastie? It's meant to be a cost effective version of the dementia seal but the way it was described, the price difference doesn't seem that much cost effective. Having Missed Match be an online digital service which is then converted to a physical product is good. Having the option for users to scan in their physical photographs would be good but I said they can just upload a picture taken from their phone camera. And they liked that we had a variety of ideas from physical like Toastie and Missed Match, to a website for Missed Match and an app for Noteground and Picsaw.

Following the feedback, Steve told us to select one idea and run with that.

The group unanimously agreed to run with Missed Match as it was the idea that recieved the most praise and will give us a chance to do something different and create physical mockups.

Me and Liz decided that we should have some primary testing and planned to go to a care home.

I called a few homes, many who's managers were unavailable to speak but when I finally got to talk to one, my worst fears came true. We cannot test this product due to data protection as it involves the usage of personal photos. As no one in my group personally knew anyone with dementia that we can test the idea on, I decided the next best thing would be to get feedback from those who work closely with dementia patients.

I spoke to a different care home manager from the first one as he was kind of weird, and I explained that although I am not allowed to visit the home directly, if he could just listen to the idea and give me feedback. He said that the idea can work but it depends what stage of dementia we’re dealing with. I told him we would primarily focus on early stage patients and he said that it can work only with early stage patients but even then not all at the early stage will share the same symptoms, so it can work for a select group. Images can sometimes bring back bad memories so it's very important that the carer is a relative to the patient, or someone who knows them well, who can choose the correct photos to use. He also gave me his email to ask him anymore questions so shout out to him.

I also spoke to a friend of mine who works with elderly people for some feedback and got generally the same advice back:

I also asked around some friends outside of my uni group if they know anyone with dementia and was overwhelmed by all the no's and might've lost a friend in the process

The next thing to do as a group was to decide who would be doing what. Liz wanted to make the physical cards as she has no laptop so her and Owen would work on that together. Me and Larry were going to do the website and I would do the next presentation and extra research.Truthfully, I had nothing for Gabriel to do as he'd done shit all up until this point and everything I did ask him to do came back with the response "Yeah I've done it, I just have to upload it dont worry" and eventually with no upload because he had nothing to upload. So I think it's fair for me to not trust him when the presentation was so soon but he asked if he could help and we're getting marked on team work so I can't be that bitch so I asked him to do research as his mum works with dementia patients. He agreed and said he would upload a doc with his findings but I'm sure you can guess that there was no doc uploaded and he did nothing as I was right to believe.
