I spoke to Steve as I was worried that we would be at a disadvantage because we could not directly test the idea on real dementia patients and he said that I should use the feedback I got from people who work closely with dementia people to my advantage and say although we can't solve this problem for everyone we are still helping a number of people because the idea can work.

I asked Owen to help Liz make the card mockups on photoshop and send them to her to physically make but, as usual, he didn't reply to any of my messages so I did them instead. What Owen did manage to do was make a new logo and packaging design for us using the theme of the forget me not flowers:

I made the physical card mockups and some mockups for the website. I just found photos from the internet that would make sense to use but I hope it's not illegal to use a photo of someone's grandad I found on instagram under the hashtag #grandad lol but the dog is super cute I love him:

I decided to change the cards a little for the colour and image version and added an option to add a description to make it easier for the player to recognise the connection between the images that have matching colours.

I chose blue, red and green as from my research suitcase, I was reminded that these colours have positive connotations for dementia patients.

This was the layout for the normal way to play:

I made the mockups for the card box too and slightly changed Owen's designs:

I sent the card mockups to Liz to print and create, meanwhile me and Larry were to do the website.

I told him that the website we currently had, the colours and pictures could just be changed and it should be fine. But I don't know what he was doing so I started it off

Before and after:

I asked him to change the cards so they weren't red. But for some reason when I saw him on the day of the presentation he hadn't done what I asked and made his own website and Gabriel wanted to suddenly help so he made an animation of flowers that played in the background:

When making the digital prototypes for Liz to create, I had to choose what size the cards would be. I looked at cards and their boxes that I already owned at home and compared the sizes to decide

I used the following measurements for the cards

Next, I wanted to make the box for the cards so I had to create the net. I found a website that just so happens to make custom card box nets for you to use.

I had to make sure the cards would actually fit in the box so I had to make adjustments. The first picture is me guessing how many cm's 12 cards on it's side would be lol

Here's me fitting everything to the net:

Printing it out:

Put together:

Liz made the physical cards at home with scissors, glue and some spray thing:

Unfortunately, Liz's printer ink was a little spoilt so I asked Steve if this would be okay to present with because I was worried it would look unprofessional but he told me although perfect mockups would be better, it'd be okay if I just mentioned that they're a working prototype.

These are the finished physical mockup prototypes:

The cards fit almost perfectly in the box I made but the top part couldn't close lol but my measurements worked (kinda)! Go me!
